Win Radigan, MA

radiganWin Radigan, M.A. is an educational consultant with more than 40 years of experience in education.  She taught high school English in Catholic high schools for 11 years before beginning work in New York City public schools where she taught English at Edward R. Murrow H.S. before becoming Assistant Principal Supervision, English at Erasmus Hall H.S. She also served as Academic Assistant Principal in Brooklyn College Academy, an alternative high school.

For six years she was Director of Instruction and Professional Development in the Brooklyn High School District where she designed and coordinated professional learning for principals, assistant principals and teachers in the 23 high schools in that district.  She then worked in the High School Division of the New York City Board of Education supporting high schools deemed low performing by the State.  Her most significant contribution was leading the design and implementation of P.O.W.E.R. (People Owning and Welcoming Educational Reform). The effort developed facilitators from among all stakeholders including District office staff, school leadership, UFT Teacher Center staff developers, City and State reviewers and Central Office who worked to support real school change in leadership and classroom practice.

Later, as Assistant Administrative Superintendent she coached, supervised and evaluated a network of high school principals and administered and provided professional learning opportunities for middle and high school supervisors in Region 3, Queens.  She co-presented several times at the National Staff Development Council Annual Conference (now Learning Forward).  Since 2008, as an independent consultant, she has worked with public, parochial and private elementary, middle, high school and college faculties.

Ms. Radigan received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from St. Joseph’s College and a Master of Arts in English from Hunter.  She did post graduate work at St. John’s University leading to her certification in district leadership from New York State and studied further in the doctoral program in administration at Teachers College, Columbia University.
